What a crazy world we live in right now. Over the course of the last week, violence has, yet again, erupted in our nation. Dallas experienced the largest loss of police life since 9/11. We could argue over who is right and wrong, the cops or BLM or whomever, but none of that matters. Why? Simple. Because if it did, then something would have changed by now.

The issues that have sparked the latest violence are as old as time. One group thinks they are being mistreated. The other does too. One group responds with frustration. The other with fear. I am not here to level blame or sentence, but I hope we will start seeing the truth: this violence isn’t a new development.

Evil has been on this earth almost as long as we have. This is how you know it isn’t a gun control issue, or a police brutality issue, this isn’t a media issue, or even a race issue. This is a heart issue and until we address what is happening in the heart, we’ll never see the end.

There are only two ways we can respond to evil: naturally or supernaturally. What I have seen over the last week is a ton of frustrated and scared people responding from their feelings. They are angry, they are upset, they are scared and they are responding accordingly. This is a problem that man has created and man is trying to fix it with natural responses. It will never work. What we have in America today can’t be fixed by us. There’s no one smart enough, or rich enough, or has enough power to unite everything that is broken, or to turn hearts full of hate towards love.

When you live by feeling, you will experience the natural, but when you live by faith, you will experience the supernatural.

You can’t expect to solve heart issues with natural fixes. The only one who can help us now, fix the issues, unite the hearts, if Jesus Christ. We have to abandon feeling and live by faith. Feeling is a cruel master. It is fickle and vicious and cares nothing about you. But faith believes and hopes and loves and faith pleases God and faith moves mountains and faith bridges the gap. And best of all, faith unleashes the supernatural in our lives to fix everything that we have broken in our natural ability.

You want to see a restoration in this nation? It won’t happen with violence. It won’t happen with protests. There isn’t enough training to fix the problem. And the media can’t report well enough to stop it all.

We need Jesus Christ to intervene, but he isn’t going to do that until we abandon our pride-driven feelings and begin to walk in and live by faith.

1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Be blessed,
J
